Hallelujah, You have overcome

Matthew 27:28-29
They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" 

The Roman soldiers who ridiculed Jesus by placing a crown of thorns on Him thought they had the final laugh. Little did they know that they had placed a crown of victory upon the rest of humanity. For though Jesus suffered for a time beneath the curse by laying down His life for His sheep, He overthrew death and was crowned with glory. And all who call upon the name of Jesus live in the same victory forevermore.

At the cross the work was finished, You were buried in the ground.
But the grave could not contain You for You wear the Victor's crown.
