2K19: A NEW BEGINNING

And just like that another year flew by.

2018 felt like a year of trials and transitions. And while God has surely delivered me, I low-key panicked when I saw next year's calendar.

Another year to go through? I barely pulled through 2018, how am I going to handle another year?

But somehow we still celebrate the New Year. Fireworks. Alcohol. Loved ones. I suppose the victory of surviving yet another year is a cause for celebration.

But as we toast to the New Year, we also celebrate a new beginning – there's something beautiful about starting over again. Like you get a new chance, you get to hit that re-play button.

A fresh beginning is something to be happy about. But sometimes we look too far to the future and worry too much.

I'm reminded of a sermon: Before the Israelites stepped their foot into their Promised Land, God took Aaron away signifying the passing of the older, unbelieving generation. Then, as the Israelites stood by the contours of the Promised Land after 40 years, a new era is born.

I'm sure the younger generation of Israelites was jaded and tired after wandering in the desert for so long. They must be so done. But God says that there is more. And we know that in the new era, God  performed miracles that have never been seen on earth – He crumbled the walls of Jericho at the sound of trumpets and held the sun still.

If today you have any unbeliefs or uncertainties in your life, leave them at the door of the new year. A greater promise lies ahead. God will perform new miracles in your life if only you would let what's to die fade away and step into the new day.

There is more.
