birthday celebration #04

Damn embarrassing to have people sing a birthday song LOUDLY in a restaurant. I think i was hiding my face behind my hands half of the time, lol! And i realised that September really produced many babies. When celebrating at Just Acia, there were another birthday celebration too. At Astons, there were two other birthday celebrations excluding mine.

I swear that Idy and YB have a fetish over taking pictures on shiny surfaces. Seriously lor, everytime we pass by a reflective screen, they would want to take photos. When people walked by, we pretend nothing is going on... when there is nobody we whispered to each other, "eheh, quick! No people, faster take!" LOL. I laughed until my jaw pain.

Had a heart-to-heart talk with Idy. Its so easy to talk to her because our views are pretty similar. Times like these, i really believe in horoscope. Leos get along well with Libras; Idy and i hit off instantaneously. But really, i believe in horoscopes' compatibility.

I hope we can meet up next tues in NTU. It would be so fun to crash YB's lecture together with Idy! Plus they owe me a birthday card, hahahahaha :D
Shall go over to NUS and disturb Idy one day. I cant wait to see her! I wanna chat with her <3

Another birthday celebration yesterday ;)

I was seriously surprised. Usually i know it when people try to do so because im smart ahem. This time round i didnt suspect a single thing because well, its not like im super close to them. I only met them around 4 - 5 times? Plus some of them already celebrated my birthday. Hence, i wasnt expecting another celebration.

I was talking to someone when suddenly this small cake appeared in front of me. Stunned for awhile while the rest sang the birthday song for me. Hahahahaha, i was so shocked that i didnt know who to look at so i just stared straight at the cake the entire time. Even when im talking to people! LOL. And the present... a bag fulled with candies, chocolates and cookies.

They know how much i love to eat, heehee!

Damn sian. I was really looking forward to ice camp! It sounded so much fun, with prison break and what not. But i didnt receive any prep notice (is there even any?) so i thought that ice camp is next month. I just realised today that its on Tues! But i already made plans to work and go out with friends ))):

Celebrated my birthday with Xiuwen, Hanyang, Carinna and Yuwen yesterday. We went to Max Brenner Chocolate Bar to eat the fondue cause they know how much i like chocolates ^^

Actually hor, the strawberry shake (cant remember full name) is so much better than the fondue. The fondue taste like normal fondue... Xiuwen and I suspect that they use Dutchlady condensed milk for the white chocolate cause it tastes like it. But dont take our words for it! There is no evidence; its just a joke. Anyw, the drink really rocks! I feel like drinking it everyday. Its just $3 more expensive than Starbucks and after hearing from a reliable source, i dont think i will ever buy Starbucks again. Kena cheated like that -_____-

To think i was so happy when FC5 is having Starbucks.

Then we bought doughnuts from Dunkin' Donuts (J.Co owns it hands down), some pizzas from a store at Esplanade Xchange and BK and went to Marina Square empty space to sit and eat. Chatted for a loooooooong time but i didnt feel bored (must be the chocolate effect). Usually i will blank out when it comes to group talks cause i like to daydream a lot.

I think i shall buy myself a chocolate everyday so that i can be happy :D

Sadako, the most innocent character alive. She's also my fave character. I also love the illustrator. The drawings are so different from the rest of the mangas. Usually they draw the eyes to be super big and round but this is different and i like it very much ^^

Andand, usually mangas they have characters with dark pasts. This is one of the few cheerful ones. Hahahaha so funny to see Kazehaya-kun blush. Especially the 3-seconds stare. Awesome only!

UPDATED: When i was doing this post, i wondered why in the world did i even like BGI more than KNT? KNT is sooooo funny and cheerful and the illustrations are superb (better than BGI because Yano looks really -___- in the beginning). But after hearing BGI soundtrack, i got swayed back. There is something about BGI that i cant explain la.

I decided to do a post on emoticons. (Actually, i did a part of this a few months back but it was saved into my draft, lol!)

Smileys are damn important in online chat/sms, do you not agree?

Just go check your facebook comments or your sms. How many of you dont have "lol", "haha" or any smiley face? Im pretty sure that every message will have at least one of the above. But have you ever wondered why?

Heh, im actually one of those people who brainstorm about such stupid topic because when i reply to people and dont "decorate" my reply, i always wonder how the other person would feel. Anyway, there are times where i dont feel like putting "haha" or (: because i thought that i was overdoing it. However, it seems... cold. Ok, you just compare the following two sentences:

You should watch the movie. Damn nice :D

VS

You should watch the movie. Damn nice.

Do you get a different feeling? Most people, when they dont see a "lol", "haha" or any smiley face, they'll immediately think that the other person is angry/dont want to continue the conversation. Yes, it is normal to think that way because every other person does it. But sometimes, just sometimes, i really dont feel like typing it because im not even laughing or smiling. Seriously lor, its only purpose in the sentence is to "liven" things up.

Weird huh?

And i would like to ask, why do people like to put "..."?

Im not criticizing anyone. But i find it rather interesting that people type "..." instead of leaving a simple blank. I know sometimes you have to put "..." for that certain effect. But what if you do it in every sentence? Like this:

Hi.... i am seventeen this year and i study in SP... I love to eat chocolate... Im also a huge kpop fan... what about you?

Im not saying its irritating or anything. Just wondering (:

Now you know how bored i am to even think about such stuff, haha. (PS, im not really laughing.)

And, i realised that many people type their smiley face like this:

Why? Cause you usually put smiley face at the end of a sentence and at the end of the sentence, there is a full stop. I think its weird and quite ugly. Dont understand? Compare:

And instead of ^.^ or ^__^ or ^-^ or ^~^ i just put ^^. Actually, i think that ^-^ and ^___^ look nicer but i lazy to type so much, hahahahahha!

And my blur face is ._______. while others might be ~.~

Lastly, my crying face can be )': or T___T. I never type T.T because firstly, you have to let go of the shift button when pressing the fullstop (very troublesome ah). Plus, it looks as though as the face is squashed together.

(///_-) This one means diao face with emo hair... like Ryan's. But now his hair much shorter so not very emo liao, lol!

A(^_^;; This is ingenious! It means someone is asking for forgiveness because the "A" is your hands clasp together. Like when doing the SJ's "Sorry sorry" dance. The (^_^ is the side profile of a face while ;; means you're in cold sweat... i think.

Very fun to decipher right? hahaha, the language of emoticons! So how do you type your emoticons?

i dont know what to name this

I realised that i love to write long paragraphs. Hence, i changed into a layout which has a bigger body space so that the paragraphs dont look so chunky.

I know that my blog is not a good website because according to what i've learnt, my blog posts are too long, my main body is not at the correct space, it is too plain, too little pictures and videos blahblahblah. The only thing i've succeeded is being personal. LOL.

Btw, what do you think of my blog? I want to know why you would take your time to read my posts (other than having nothing to do). For example, i read Pearl's blog because i think she has an interesting pov. And her writing style is funny. Like the make-up conversation between the couple. "Oi, dont do that la!"

Sooooo, i wanna know what's attractive about my blog. Because other than being naggy, i cant seem to think of any other reason. Oh wait, naggy isnt attractive ><

FYI, im not doing this to show off that i have readers (i dont have much... unless people are stalking my blog w/o my knowledge) or to reassure myself that i have readers (i always get freaked out when people whom i didnt suspect tells me they read my blog because im afraid that i wrote things on my blog offending towards them/badmouth them and will be self-conscious for the rest of my life, lol! Not exactly a good feeling). I feel that everyone has a different perspective so i would like to know yours.

Besides, this is a great chance to see who reads my blog secretly (i know there are people who read but never tag!). Heehee ^^

I hurt my finger today. Pain pain ))': Now my right hand looks like some ET hand because you can only see three fingers. I keep the other two bend cause i think it hurts when i straighten them. T___T

I got my first birthday today~ Its a schedule book from Pearl and Pearlyn. I chose the design. Happy ^^ I really like this gift because its practical. I love practical things! There was once when i ran out of liquid tape during exam period and i badly wished someone would buy me that for my birthday present cause im so broke that i couldnt afford it (ya la, i've always been a spendthrift). I didnt care if it were that $1 kind of correction tape. As long as its a correction tape, I WOULD LOVE IT!

But of course, now if you give me correction tape i would probably go zzz. Anyway, my point is, i dont care how much the gift is as long as it satisfy my need at that point of time. People always buy me expensive stuff and i'd always be in a dilemma cause you need to appreciate it but at the same time, you dont like it. Aiya, you get what i mean la!

Oh yeah, even though i had morning shift today, i stayed up till 3am last night to read Bokura Ga Ita. I watched the anime a few days ago on Youtube because they recommended me (after watching Kimi Ni Todoke). I chionged 26 episodes in 2 two days (very unusual for me as i hate to watch shows with long episodes) and yes, i stayed up till wee hours even though i had work. I even woke up an hour early to watch it, hahahaha!

And i've decided that its the best shojo manga that i've read (ok, maybe not. Fruit Basket is also superb and it was the first story i know of that the second male lead ends up with the female lead (YES!!!!!! *prances around in room) but its been a long time since i read it so i dono whether it would win Bokura Ga Ita or not. But as far as i know, BGI has better illustrations. I really dont like Tohru's hairstyle and eyes).

Yes, its even better that Kimi Ni Todoke in my opinion.

Reason 1: Better storyline.
In KNT, there was pretty much no obstacle in the r/s. You say that Sakura is pretty and whatever but c'mon, the guy never ever give a damn about her. There was pretty much no threat. Besides, Sakura turns out to be a nice person, even supporting Sadako in the end.

In BGI, however, there were many many obstacles. First there was the dead ex-gf which the guy really really was in love in. And when they finally started dating, his past always haunt them causing them to break up. Then there is also the best friend who's in love with Nana. Sure, Nana may not be in love with him, but she almost accepted him in the around chapter 50+. And then there are 2 other girls who are in love with the main guy too. One of them is nice but the other one... Psycho lor. She totally broke the couple up and even "blackmailed" (can i mention that she did it twice?) the guy to stay with her. Even stalked him and stuff. Damn it, because of her, Yano disappeared for 5 years suddenly and leave Nana (and the readers) really broken and confused. Grrr.

Anyway, the conflict is much bigger than KNT.

Reason 2: Better illustration.
Er, KNT girl looks better because Nana looks too kiddish already but BGI boy wins hand down. I love Yano's hair!!! As mentioned before, i always look at guy's hair first. I think its amazing how guys can style their hair differently even when its so short. And its not easy to achieve that natural but messy but nice hair (am i even making sense?) To me, hair is the window to one's soul. And Yano is handsome because of his hair ^^

Reason 3: BGI made me cry but KNT did not.
I've always been a sensitive person. I always cry in a fight with my sister even when she's in the wrong. She'd just give the bochap face then i would scream and yell at her until tears come down (loser i know -____-). And im always the only one crying while watching a sad scene at home with family. Point is, i cry easily but somehow, KNT did not make me cry. And we all know that in a story, stirring emotions in people is really important.

And yup, that concludes why BGI is better than KNT. But hor, both of the writers seemed to have gone on a hiatus (mega wtf!) and im under extreme torture BECAUSE I CANT STAND TO WAIT! (Luckily Kyou koi wo hagimemasu is still getting updated even though its super slow T___T)

Ok, sorry for always blabbering about shojo mangas but im a sucker for romance so it cant be help. I wish i could find someone who feels the same way i do. I mean, i know that there are people who loves to read mangas but most of them read shonen mangas only. Those who read shojo mangas have totally different taste from me so i can only rave about my fave mangas to... myself... on my blog.

Heh, pathetic.

Which reminds me, I'VE NOT READ PRINCE OF TENNIS FOR A LONG TIME LE! Time to reunite. Plus, i know that i wont have to wait for updates because its completed!! YAY!! But the sequel (under another manga name) is not completed. Nvm, i shall read POT anyway ^^

PS, omg! I just realised POT is a shonen manga! hahahaha, my first shonen manga everrr!! (eh, maybe not. Cause i've read one about fairies and fighting and it bores me to death but im not sure if its shonen or shojo though) But POT definitely, without a doubt, is my first fave shonen manga! I just wished that there were more development between the guy and the girl though ):

PPS, wait, i just found out that Detective Conan is also a shonen manga. Hence, POT is not my first fave/read shonen manga anymore. It all goes to DC. Why DC wins POT? Because...

hahahaha, okok! im not going to prolong this post by doing a comparison like the one above. But i've always like psychological stuff (things that actually uses your brain to think out of the box) because its amazing how smart people (or in this case, Conan) can be. Besides, there are actually development between Conan and Rachel (i cant remember the japanese name) like when he took her to the restaurant where his parents got engaged. But it failed la. Anyw, DC rocks! <3

I love dreams because its so magical!

Today, Pearl told me that she dreamt of marrying to Zac Efron. Lucky girl.
I also read that Bernie dreamt about her wedding.
And me?

I dreamt of me in my sec class, failing maths (there were only 2 failures). I thought i got 41 upon 50 for lit but it turns out to be 41 out of 500.

Why my dreams like that??? In that dream, i srsly thought it was real and i was so worried for my maths leh!! And i have never dream of a celebrity. Heck, i only dream of people i know.

Like that time, i dreamt of Vivian and Jingjing buying udon from a convience store. Then i dreamt of the whole welfare at my house (dono for what reason) and Xianying was talking to me about something. And the most absurb one is i dreamt that me and my guy friend were getting onto a bus. I saw another friend on the bus and waved to her and she waved - but not to me. Turns out that she also knows the guy. They were childhood friends. I can still remember feeling jealous in the dream cause i like him. BUT I DONT LIKE THAT GUY IN REAL LIFE LEH.

Siao, why my dreams like that? People dream of marrying celebrities and i cant even dream of someone liking me.

Im loving A9 more and more. Shou is love!!! Actually, i dont think he's super handsome (he looks kinda scary...) but there's something about him that attracts me. Must be his voice. Which reminds me... I saw 2 cute guys in the MRT yesterday! Waaaaah, i kept peeking at them LOL! Made me smile to myself like some crazy fool. But after 5 minutes, i cant remember their faces. I can only remember one of their hair (i always look at guy's hair first rather than their eyes) and that the other wore a green shirt.

One of the wire broke off (hahaha, cause i never unplug them from my macbook and just squashed them when i put my macbook in the cover) and the other one is plain weird. I deal with that problem, every single day of my life. I have lots of friends. But i dont get close to them. I hide part of myself away. Not many have seen the whole side of me. Only the few trusted ones have. Only those whom i know wouldnt ditch me even if i become a completely different person. The above picture explains why. Sigh, i suffer from inferiority complex, ok?

And omg, i feel like reading Fruits Basket again!! I think its the only comic/book/show that i know which the female lead ends up with the second male lead. I WAS FREAKING HAPPY!!! For some reason, i always support the female lead and the second male lead. I think its because the writers always portray the second male lead to be damn ke lian. So much so that, i feel for them and wants the female lead to like them.

Come to think of it, Vampire Knight was the only book/show that i wanted the male and female lead together, hahaha. But i stopped reading it like a year ago =.=' Cannot take the slow updates of the manga.
